German offshore helicopter operator Northern Helicopter expands its business with another helicopter and a second Managing Director.
Recently acquired helicopter increases the amount of EC 155 B1 in NHC’s fleet up to three of this flight model. “With this sixth helicopter we can offer our clients even more flexibility with regular crew change and troubleshooting flights than we already had before”, Frank Zabell Managing Director of NHC says.
From its position as market leader for Helicopter Emergency Medical Services (HEMS) in the German North Sea, the company launched the crew change services early 2016 and is still on the growing way. Since January 2018, NHC is also responsible for HEMS of all offshore windfarms in the German Baltic EEZ and built up the new rescue base at Güttin on the island of Rugia.
The direction of growth is also reflected by the number of employees. Within the last five years the staff more than doubled: Almost 80 people (pilots, emergency physicians, medics and technician and administration) work with NHC in 2018. So it became necessary not only to add equipment but also to team up the management: With Frank Zabell (COO) and “latest arrival” Armin Ortmann (CFO) NHC is well prepared for the coming years in aviation business. Meet them at WindEnergy/Hamburg at WINDEA Offshore booth (hall B4, ground floor, Booth 210)!
