Ems Maritime Offshore and Northland Power Europe have signed charter contract until 2026

Northland Power Europe GmbH, the operator of the “Nordsee One” and “Northland Deutsche Bucht“ offshore wind farms, has chartered the wind farm service vessel “WINDEA six” from the service provider Ems Maritime Offshore GmbH (EMO) for a further five years.

VENTUSmarine control centre coordinates operations at “Trianel Windpark Borkum”

Following a successful evaluation period, VENTUSmarine, the maritime control centre for offshore projects operated by Ems Maritime Offshore GmbH (EMO), has assumed coordination of the “Trianel Windpark Borkum” offshore wind farm, located 45 km north of the island Borkum.

Successful project start for Buss on the largest offshore wind farm in the world

The first six transition pieces for Ørsted’s Hornsea Two offshore wind farm have arrived from Great Britain at the Buss Terminal in Eemshaven, Netherlands. The wind farm will be the largest offshore wind farm in the world, dispersed across an area of 462 km2 when it is commissioned in 2022.

Ems Maritime Offshore to participate in traffic control measures during construction of Fehmarnbelt tunnel

The offshore specialists of Ems Maritime Offshore GmbH (EMO) have participated in the tender by the Danish Femern A/S project enterprise regarding the provision of nautical specialists involved in traffic control measures for the Fehmarnbelt tunnel project, and have been awarded the contract for this five-year project.

Buss Energy Group invests in future-oriented technology for the inspection of wind turbines

The Buss Energy Group from Hamburg (Germany) continues its growth course with a strategic stake of 24.9 percent in Aero Enterprise GmbH from Linz. The Austrian company has been operating inspection flights on onshore and offshore wind turbines with self-developed flying robots since 2013.

NHC Northern Helicopter takes up air rescue service for four more offshore wind farms in the North Sea

Northern Helicopter GmbH (NHC Northern Helicopter), Emden, is set to take up the offshore rescue service for the Veja Mate, Nordergrund, Butendiek and BARD Offshore 1 offshore wind farms in the North Sea's German Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) on 1 August 2020. The contract package now signed covers the air rescue service for a total of 245 offshore wind turbines, as well as coordination via the emergency control centre. The wind farms are located in the German Bight, in some cases more than 100 kilometres off the mainland.

Ems Maritime Offshore has been offering offshore services for ten years

When EMO was founded ten years ago as a subsidiary of the AG "EMS" Group in Emden, Managing Director Knut Gerdes was already looking back on several years of experience. It all began with the first wind farm projects in the North Sea. Knut Gerdes was fascinated by the topic and he was given the assignment to deal with the new field of activity. Gerdes remembers: "At that time, discussions were held with the pioneers of this industry, which mostly consisted of small project development offices".

Successfully finished: Buss completes major port logistics project for Trianel wind farm Borkum II

This week the installation ship left the terminal for the last time to erect the remaining two towers in the Trianel wind farm Borkum II. It was the eleventh offshore project that Buss Energy Group has successfully completed at Buss Terminal Eemshaven. The commissioning of the 32 wind turbines with a capacity of around 200 megawatts is scheduled for mid 2020. The second expansion stage of the first purely municipal offshore wind farm is located 45 kilometres north of Borkum. The planned operating period is 25 years.
