GWO Trainingsmodule in Eemshaven – die German Wind Academy GmbH erweitert ihren Standort

Elsfleth – August 2018: Auch 2018 hat die German Wind Academy (GWA) die Zertifizierung der Global Wind Organisation (GWO) für ihre Module Basic und Refresher am Standort Elsfleth erfolgreich durchgeführt. Neu dazugekommen ist in diesem Jahr der Offshore Standort Eemshaven in den Niederlanden. Ab sofort bietet die German Wind Academy in direkter Nähe zur Kaikante ihren Kunden die GWO-Module: „First Aid“, „Fire Awareness“ und „Manual Handling“ an. Das Modul „Working at Heights“ ist in der Vorbereitung und wird zeitnah mit entsprechendem Trainingsequipment ebenfalls in Eemshaven starten. Bernhard Schulte orders 3rd Service Operation Vessel (SOV)

Bernhard Schulte Offshore (BSO) has won GE Renewable Energy’s tender to provide a new-build Service Operation Vessel (SOV) to support the maintenance of the 66 Haliade 150-6MW turbines located 28 miles from Germany’s Borkum Island. The total capacity of 396MW will produce enough power for almost half a million homes. BSO’s winning bid showcased the Schulte Group as a strong partner with a track-record in the operation of SOVs in several wind farms and included a proven vessel design build by the Ulstein yard which is known for high quality and on-time delivery.

EMS Maritime Offshore expands fleet

New addition of a Multi-Role Support Vessel Emden/Knock On Friday, 15 June 2018, a new ship of the EMS Maritime Offshore GmbH (EMO) and Van Laar Maritime BV was christened at Knock in Emden with the name ‘EMSWIND’. Godmother Marie-Luise Hapig was visibly overjoyed at the honour of christening the ship and wished the new addition: ‘May you always have a safe journey and a hand-span of water under the keel.’

EMO Ltd. delivers Eemshaven Offshore Service Base to Merkur Offshore GmbH

After only six months under construction, the second Offshore Base for the Ems Maritime Offshore Ltd.(EMO) in Eemshaven has been completed. The building was officially handed over to EMO on 26 April 2018 by Deputy Director Geert-Jan Huiges from general contractor BV Bouwbedrijf Kooi Appingedam. Merkur Offshore has agreed a long-term contract with EMO to build and operate a service hub on its behalf. In future, the building will be used by GE Renewable Germany GmbH.

Orange Blue Terminal in Eemshaven Signs Contract with GeoSea for Windfarms Hohe See and Albatros

Port Knock in Emden becomes service base for MHI Vestas Offshore

From March 2018, EMS Maritime Offshore GmbH (EMO) will provide port facilities in Emden and logistics services to the wind turbine manufacturer MHI Vestas for the "Borkum Riffgrund 2" offshore wind farm. After the installation of the 56 V164-8 MW wind turbines, MHI Vestas will commission the wind turbine generators and use the service base at Port Knock at the river Ems. (...)

Northern HeliCopter on rescue service in the Baltic Sea

Emden-based Northern HeliCopter GmbH (NHC for short) has secured its first order for service in the Baltic Sea. In 2018, NHC will have a rescue helicopter with pilots and medical crew based in Güttin on the island of Rügen on 24/7 call throughout the year. The client is 50Hertz Transmission (50HzT) from Berlin, who had been looking for an interim solution until completion of its EU tender.

Buss Offshore Solutions participates in WINDEA Offshore

As of 1 January 2018, the offshore wind service company WINDEA Offshore acquires with Buss Offshore Solutions GmbH & Co. KG another shareholder. In the future, the already very extensive service portfolio for the construction and operation of offshore wind farms of the WINDEA Group will be supplemented by the terminals and logistics services of the Buss Group.  The WINDEA shareholders Bernhard Schulte Offshore, EMS Maritime Offshore and SSC Wind EMEA, who founded WINDEA in May 2011 as a joint service platform for their offshore wind activities, recently reached an agreement with Buss Offshore Solutions on the details of the transaction and signed the relevant agreements.
