Construction work for RWE's Kaskasi offshore wind farm north of Helgoland progressed rapidly in the spring. Using the Buss Terminal Eemshaven as a base port, more than 50 percent of the foundations have already been successfully installed.
NHC Northern Helicopter will accompany the research vessel “Polarstern” to polar regions in the future
Northern Helicopter GmbH will fly in the Arctic and Antarctic in the future. The shipping company F.Laeisz G.m.b.H., based in Rostock, Germany, has entrusted the Emden offshore aviation company with the operation of helicopters for the research vessel "Polarstern" chartered to the Alfred Wegener Institute, Helmholtz Center for Polar and Marine Research (AWI) from June 2022.
WINDEA CTV LLC, a US operator of offshore wind Crew Transfer Vessels (CTVs), announced today that it has commenced construction of three 30-meter hybrid ready CTVs. The CTVs are scheduled to be delivered in 2023 and will go immediately into service for GE Renewables. The vessels will first operate out of New Bedford, MA, during the Vineyard Wind I construction period.
Ems Maritime Offshore commissioned with construction site coordination for RWE’s Kaskasi Offshore Wind Farm located off Helgoland
RWE Renewables has commissioned the offshore service provider Ems Maritime Offshore GmbH (EMO), based in Emden, with the coordination of the Kaskasi Offshore Wind Farm construction site.
Buss Terminal in Eemshaven has completed the handling and load out for the world´s largest offshore wind park Hornsea Two with 165 wind turbines.
Starting in October 2022 Eemshaven is going to serve as base port for pre-assembly and installation of rotor blades, nacelles and towers of the Hollandse Kust Noord offshore wind farm. Approximately 210,000 m² of the 250,000 m² sized heavy cargo terminal are going to be occupied.
Ems Maritime Offshore (EMO), Vestas and Parkwind signed the lease agreements for the O&M building that will serve the forthcoming Arcadis Ost I wind farm in the Port of Mukran. The signing ceremony, in the presence of the Minister of Energy, Infrastructure and Digitalization of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Christian Pegel, marks the beginning of the development of the building where up to 40 professionals will oversee and service the operations of the 257 MW wind farm Arcadis Ost I.
On Wednesday 07 July 2021, Ems Maritime Offshore (EMO), Groningen Seaports and the Offshore Wind Innovation Centre (OWIC) officially opened the new DronePort at Heliport Eemshaven. The airport for drones is geared towards the offshore wind sector. From here, innovative drone applications such as the transport of goods to offshore installations, emergency support and SAR operations, monitoring, mapping, surveying and inspections will be researched, initiated and carried out in the future.
