HAMBURG -Buss Offshore Solutions and the French industrial logistics firm IDEA have confirmed their joint venture. This follows the signing of a declaration of intent at the WindEnergy Expo in Hamburg in September 2018. The two companies will appear together for the first time as Buss IDEA Offshore at the Seanergy 2019 wind trade fair in Dunkirk from the 5th to the 7th of June, where they will showcase the full spectrum of logistics services for the French market.

By combining the expertise of both companies, Buss IDEA Offshore is able to offer comprehensive logistics services for the offshore market in France. These include shoreside and base port logistics, which are required for the installation, operation and maintenance phases, along with warehousing and factory logistics for suppliers and manufacturers.

The French offshore market

Compared to Germany, the expansion of offshore wind energy is still in its early stages here. The French government has set itself the goal of obtaining around 40 per cent of its energy from renewable sources by 2030 (announced by President Emmanuel Macron in June 2018).

Martin Schulz, CEO Buss IDEA Offshore and Buss Offshore Solutions: “The launch of Buss IDEA Offshore at Seanergy show sends out a strong signal. We are officially offering the French market our tailor-made logistics services for the first time and we are proud to be able to contribute our experience from the fields of transport and port logistics for offshore wind farms in the North Sea and Baltic Sea on this future-focused growth market.”

Cédric Valmalle, CEO Buss IDEA Offshore and Business Development Director for IDEA: “Seanergy is the ideal platform for introducing Buss IDEA Offshore to the French market. The strength of our joint venture lies in the fact that our services and experiences complement each other perfectly.”
